Notre Dame Senior Defender Haley Ford (#8 in navy blue) goes up for a header on goal in 2009 Women's College Cup semi finals.Notre Dame's women's soccer season came to an end last night. The were clipped 1-0 by defending Champions North Carolina in semi-finals of the 2009 Women's College Cup. The semifinals were held on the Texas A&M campus in College Station, Texas. The lone,but winning goal that ousted Notre Dame from the competition,came from the boot of Tarheel Senior Forward Casey Nogueira who netted in the 82Nd minute of play. That goal gave North Carolina the outright win in regulation and they will face Stanford in this years final. Stanford edged UCLA in a game that can only be described as a thriller!.
Notre Dame and the Big East Conference should be back in contention for the title next season,but like they always say:"you gotta wait til' next year".
