Junior Midfielder Tara Strickland scored in Depaul's 4-0 win over Loyola-Chicago.Depaul University opened the season in fine form,defeating Loyola-Chicago 4-0. Depaul opened the scoring in the 11 minute of play with Junior Midfielder Tara Strickland opening the scoring. The other goals came from junior Forward Lauren Pagone in the 25th minute and Senior Defender Dominique Locascio in the 51 first minute of play. The fourth was an own goal by Loyola-Chicago.
Georgetown University also had a winning start to the 2009 season. They defeated American University 2-0, with goals coming from Junior Defender Michaela Buonomo in the 19th minute of play and Sophomore Forward Camille Trujillo in the 80th minute respectively.
Syracuse lost a tough game to St. Bonaventure 2-1 in double overtime. The consolation goal came from Freshman Midfielder Tina Romagnuolo.
