NCAA Women's Soccer College Cup Results:And Then There was 1!..

Notre Dame Sophomore Forward Melissa Henderson (in blue and white) netted 4 times en route to the Fighting Irish's 6-1 drubbing of Central Michigan.

After the dust settled on the Big East Conference teams that competed in the second round of the 2009 NCAA Women's College Cup.Only one (1)Big East team made it to the third round.Let us start with the winner first. Notre Dame who actually played their match on Saturday November 14,2009 dismantled Central Michigan 6-1. Sophomore Forward Melissa Henderson opened the scoring when she netted in the 2ND,20Th,33Rd and 65Th minutes respectively. Junior Forward/Midfielder Rose Augustin and Senior Defender Rachel VanderGenugten scored in the 61St and 88Th minutes respectively. Central Michigan's Molly Gerst scored the teams consolation goal in the 55Th minute of play.Notre Dame is the only Big East team that has advanced to the 3Rd round of the 2009 NCAA Women's College Cup.

Boston College ended Connecticut's season when they blanked the Huskies 2-0.

Wake Forest slammed West Virginia 3-0.

South Carolina edged Rutgers 1-0 to end the Scarlet Knights season.

The 2009 Big East Conference Men's Soccer Championship Team List is Out!

Big East Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Offensive Performer Sophomore Forward Walter Hines leads 4 other St Johns teammates onto the All Big East Men's Soccer Championship List.


Saint John's Red-Shirt Senior Derby Carillo was named the Big East Tournament Most Outstanding Defensive player.


The 2009 Big East Conference Championship team list is out. As is to be expected, the majority of the list is made up of players from the two teams that made it to the championship round. Here is the list:Providence Senior Midfielder/Defender Justin Khale; Louisville's Senior Midfilder/Forward Othneil Yanez and Red-Shirt Sophomore Midfielder Kenny Walker; Notre Dame's Sophomore Defender Aaron Maund,Junior Midfielder/Forward Jeb Brovsky and Senior Midfielder Michael Thomas; Saint Johns' Sophomore Forward Walter Hines,Sophomore Defender Connor Lade,Senior Defender David Reed,Red-Shirt Senior Goalkeeper Derby Carillo and Junior Midfielder/Forward Svegge Wegge-Gundhus.

Men's Soccer: St. John's Are The 2009 Big East Conference Tournament Soccer Champs!

The Saint John's men's soccer team celebrate their Big East Tournament Championship after defeating Notre Dame 5-3 on Penalty Kick.

Saint John's prevailed in double overtime to defeat Notre Dame 5-3 on penalty kicks. With both teams locked on a 0-0 scoreline through full and 2 overtime, it was on to the dreaded penalty kicks where St John's converted all five of their penalty kicks to crown themselves the 2009 Big East Conference Tournament Champions. Saint John's Sophomore Forward Walter Hines was named Most Outstanding Offensive player while teammate Red-Shirt Senior Goalkeeper Derby Carrillo won the Most Outstanding Defensive player award.Way to Go St. John's!

Big East Conference Teams in the Second Round of 2009 Womens College Cup!

Rutgers women's soccer team takes on South Carolina in NCAA Women's College Cup second round action today.

Three Big East Conference women's soccer teams will be in action today in the second of the 2009 NCAA women's college cup tournament. Senior Midfielder Carolyn Blank and West Virginia will play away at Wake Forest,South Carolina entertains Senior Goal Keeper Erin Guthrie and Rutgers while Boston College welcomes Freshman Midfielder Linda Ruutu and Connecticut. All games begin at 1.00pm EST.

Mens Soccer: Big East Conference Tournament Finals are on Today!

Senior Forward Bright Dike (in blue shirt) and Notre Dame takes on Saint John's in today's Big East Tournament finals.


Saint John's Red-Shirt Midfielder Tadeu Terra and Saint John's takes on Notre Dame in today's finals.

Today is the Final match in the 2009 men's soccer Big East Conference tournament. Notre Dame and Saint John's will contest the finals today at 12.00pm Est. The finals will be held at the Dick Dlesk soccer stadium on the campus of West Virginia University. Notre Dame will be looking to Senior Striker Bright Dike and Senior Midfielder Justin Morrow to lead the Fighting Irish into today's final. Saint John's will be looking to Red-Shirt Junior Midfielder Tadeu Terra as well as Junior Midfielder/Forward Svegge Wegge Gundhus to lead St Johns in today's game.

Mens Soccer: Big East Conference Tournament First Round Game on Today 11/05/09

Freshman Forward Hasani Sinclair (#14 in white in photo) and South Florida entertains Marquette in the Big East Conference Tournament First Round Playoff.

There is one lone game on today in the men's soccer Big East Conference playoff tournament.Sophomore Midfielder Calum Mallace and Marquette, plays away to Freshman Forward Hasani Sinclair and South Florida today. The lone playoff game begins tonight at 7.30pm eastern. Notre Dame awaits the winner of this game.

Big East Conference Men's Soccer Playoffs Begin Today !!

Sophomore Midfielder Alex Silva (#16 in photo) and West Virginia entertains Rutgers in the Big East Conference Playoff Tournament today.

There are three (3) Big East Conference men's soccer play off tournament games on today. It is the time of the soccer season when the only thing that will matter is a Win.There will be many upsets, heart breaks and shockers.So let the Big East Conference men's soccer playoff's begin! In today's match up,Depaul plays away at Georgetown,Providence College welcomes Villanova to Providence, Rhode Island and in Soccernista's match of the day West Virginia entertains Rutgers. The respective division winners and runners up await the winners of today's games.
